Leaders from the G7 member states of France, Germany, Italy, Japan, USA, UK and Canada, along with the President of the European Council and the President of the European Commission will attend. These countries represent 2.3 billion people and over half of the world's economy. They have great influence across the rest of the world.
The G7 agenda includes Regional Affairs - Ukraine and Indo-Pacific, Nuclear Disarmament and Non-poliferation, Economic Resilience and Economic Security, Climate and Energy, Food, Health, and Development. They may also include children’s education in the developing world. Areas such as Gender, Human Rights, Digitalization and Science and Technology will also be highlighted.
In 2023, as the G7 President, Prime Minister Kishida of Japan will host the G7 Hiroshima Summit. It has significant implications that the leaders of the G7 gather for discussions in Hiroshima, a city which has recovered from the catastrophic damage by an atomic bomb and which continues to seek lasting world peace.
We invite you to join with us, wherever you are, over these three days. We will be hosting a worship and prayer watch on Zoom. Get the Zoom details here and download the G7 Prayer Resource.
